Finally Running!

Well the relic is finally running.

It needs full choke and a fist full of throttle to get going, but it bloody runs!
Shaking itself to pieces, so I need to go back through and tighten everything up then investigate an oil leak on the right hand points cover.

Saddle bag bling

Got this with my other shit from lowbrow for the sporty. Kinda like ratty bike bling....

Tanking it....

grabbed a couple of hours today, new tank looks great.

It sits lower than the one I had before, which is fine, bar a mount for the coil that I hadn't removed before.....



think you can see it here on the cross support - well that had to have a tickle with El Grindero, and off it went!



tank sat on lovely, and I actually really like it in the metal colour. Now I hold my hand up and admit that I'm the crappest of the crap at cleaning cars and bikes (some people like it  - I'm too lazy), so I'm thinking of spraying it up with a primer, then a silver top coat prior to lacquer... rear muddy will need the same treatment at some point too - but I'll worry about that later...

The lowbrow tanks come without any mounting holes, and it was evident that I couldn't line up with the old tank holes, so I re-drilled them, welded up the bottom mount, then turned up some threaded top hats to take the tank.

I bought a set of stepped tapered drills the other day Absolutely marvellous for drilling the holes for the top hats!

all looking good!



oh I double checked the tap clearances too, and all looks like it will fit  find and dandy!



oh, and I re-cycled one of the numerous headlamp mounts I made to make a start on the lever for the rear brake. it got modified from this, but you get the idea....

A group of us lads up here in t'north have started a little blog for our exploits.

Certainly I plan to be riding more in 2012, so all the pictures and videos that we amass will be posted on our little place. As well as that it'll have stupid shit that we've seen, cool bikes, and -well; anything that we see that we can put up to amuse ourselves in work!

New workshop / shed

Just ordered my new shed / workshop. Shouldn't be all that excited, but with the 45 in progress and needing a place thats clean and dry to work on engines, this is just the ticket!

I've seen the future, and its Knucking Expensive!

With all I have going on, probably the last thing I need is another project...

Well ive had this a while now, but thought I would share... Once the relic is finished and the 45 is done I have bought this to be a LONG term project....

I've also got a rockertop gearbox in full working order to go with it. Needs a lot of work, but its much prettier than having an ISA in the bank....

The plan...... Not sure yet, probably a stripped down chop of some sort, it'll not pin myself down to anything for a while yet!
